The TICAD 9 was held in Yokohama, Japan, from 20-22 August 2025. Key discussions focused on the economy, society, and peace, under the theme "co-create innovative solutions with Africa." Emphasis was placed on sustainable growth, youth and women's empowerment, and regional integration. Prime Minister Ishiba outlined Japan's commitment to seven areas, including promoting investment, strengthening industrial cooperation, enhancing connectivity, and advancing health policies. Specific initiatives announced included the Economic Region Initiative of Indian Ocean-Africa and the African Healthcare Investment Promotion Package. The "TICAD 9 Yokohama Declaration" was adopted, and 324 business cooperation documents were signed between Japan and Africa.
