Report- Virtual briefing with the Pan-African Parliament Women’s Caucus COVID-19 and Gender-Based Violence
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) partnered with the Pan-African Parliament through its Women’s Caucus to convene a virtual briefing meeting under the theme “COVID-19 and Gender-based violence (GBV): Parliamentary support to gender-responsive national plans”.
Policy Dialogue on Ending Violence against Women and Girls Action to Guarantee Women’s Safety
On 10 December 2020, African Union Commission - Women, Gender and Development Directorate, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) organized a virtual multi-stakeholder policy dialogue under the theme “Ending Violence against Women and Girls: Action to Guarantee Women’s Safety in Africa”.
High-Level Continental Dialogue on The State of World Population (SWOP) Report 2020 and Launch
UNFPA Liaison Office to the African Union and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNFPAELO) convened a High-Level Continental Dialogue for the launch of the State of World Population Report (SWOP) 2020 in Africa. The virtual meeting was held on the 28th of August 2020 and gathered over 120 participants from different backgrounds.
